NexUnit - Frequently Asked Questions

Android Version

General

NexUnit is a comprehensive universal unit converter for Android. It includes 42 conversion tools across 7 categories: Physical Units, Science & Space, Financial, Computing & Data, Health & Everyday, Text Conversions, and Dev Tools.

Yes! NexUnit is free to download and use. It is supported by ads. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Most conversions work entirely offline. An internet connection is needed for live currency rates and to load ads.

NexUnit does not directly collect or transmit any personal data. Your preferences (favorites, theme, etc.) are stored locally on your device. However, the app displays ads through Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers and usage data per Google's Privacy Policy.

Using the App

Use the search bar at the top of the main screen. Type any keyword like "temperature", "hex", "BMI", or "morse" to instantly filter the list. You can also browse by category.

Tap the star icon next to any converter in the main list. Favorited converters appear in a dedicated section at the top for quick access. Tap the star again to unfavorite.

Tapping the info icon shows a brief description of what that converter does. Inside each converter, you'll also see an info banner at the top that you can dismiss with the X button.

Open the BMI Calculator from Health & Everyday. In Imperial mode, enter your height in separate feet and inches fields and your weight in pounds. In Metric mode, enter height in centimeters and weight in kilograms. The result updates automatically as you type.

When the Unit System is set to Imperial (Settings > Units), the BMI Calculator shows two separate fields for feet and inches — no need to type apostrophes or special characters.

Settings & Customization

Tap the gear icon in the top right to open Settings, then change the Unit System between Metric and Imperial. This affects default units in the BMI Calculator and other tools.

Go to Settings > Precision and choose between 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 decimal places. This controls how many decimal places are shown in all conversion results.

Go to Settings > Theme and choose between System (follows your device's dark/light mode), Light, or Dark.

Go to Settings > Interaction and toggle off Haptic Feedback. This disables the vibration when toggling favorites.

Go to Settings > Reset All Data. This clears all favorites, resets theme, precision, unit system, and haptic feedback to their defaults. This cannot be undone.

Converters & Tools

NexUnit uses live exchange rates updated regularly. While rates are refreshed frequently, they may not reflect real-time market values. For financial decisions, please verify with a dedicated currency service.

NexUnit includes Roman Numerals, Morse Code, NATO Phonetic Alphabet, Case Converter, Word Counter, Text Reverser, and Markdown to Text converter.

Dev Tools include Base64 Encoder/Decoder, URL Encoder/Decoder, JSON Formatter (prettify/minify), CSV to JSON converter, SHA Hashing (SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512), Lorem Ipsum generator, and a Percentage Calculator.

The Color Codes converter supports HEX, RGB, and HSL formats. Enter a color in any format and see it converted to all three.

The Dog Years converter uses the traditional 7:1 ratio as a rough approximation. In reality, dog aging varies by breed and size, but this gives a quick general estimate.

Troubleshooting

Double-check the units you selected — some categories have similar-sounding units (e.g., US Gallon vs Imperial Gallon). If you believe there's a genuine error, please contact us through the Support page.

Go to Settings > Precision and adjust the decimal places. The default is 6. You can set it anywhere from 2 to 10.

Favorites are stored locally on your device. If you reinstalled the app or tapped Reset All Data in Settings, your favorites would have been cleared. Unfortunately, there is no way to recover them — you'll need to re-star your favorites.

Email us at support@gpcreativestudios.com or use the contact form on our Support page. We typically respond within 24 hours.
